Our family began fly-in outpost trips nearly 30 years ago in order for my father to not spend the entire trip checking in at work.  That same reasoning now applies to me and it is priceless to me.  Being able to completely disconnect from the pressures and responsibilities of everyday life and spend time being 100% present with my kids allows us to connect more than we ever could without it.  We make memories that last a lifetime because in those moments we are all fully present and together.
